Cards from 7 to 9 have the value of 0

Cards from 10 to ace have the value of -1

If you add the values of the whole deck, you will end up with the value of 0. This method says the player which cards are still available. Every time the new deal starts, you have to count the cards once again. The start value is always 0. While croupier is checking his cards, you add 1 or 0 or you subtract 1. For example if a card is a jack, then you have to subtract 1. If the next card is 3, you add 1, so the overall value of both cards is 0. The higher value of your cards the bigger the probability that some high cards are still left in deck. The lower the value of your cards, the smaller the probability that later you get some high cards. If there are many high value cards in the deck, it is advantageous for player as well as for croupier. This knowledge makes it easier for a player to make some important decisions about his stake. If he is clever enough, he can even double his stake in an appropriate moment.

Uston SS
Uston SS is a more effective system of card counting. However, this system is a bit more complicated. The main difference compared to the basic system is that cards are divided in 6 groups and they are given additional points. Cards are given following values:

Cards 2, 4, 6 have a value +2

Card 5 has a value +3

Card 7 has a value +1

Card 8 has a value 0

Card 9 has a value -1

Cards from 10 to ace have a value -2

The difficulty of Uston SS method lies in the fact, that you have to remember all the cards on the table and their prescribed values. Otherwise, if you can count to 21, you should not have any problems.

The ability to cards counting in blackjack may improve a lot your chances for the winning. Of course, casino always has an advantage over a player in all gambles. However, if you can count you can achieve better results than the casino does.
